Office of Thai Trade Promotion in Mumbai will hold ‘Thailand Trade Show 2011’ at Trade Centre Bangalore, Whitefield, Bangalore, between 11-14 August 2011 and at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, between 19-21 August 2011.
Fifty-six exhibitors from Thailand will participate in the show. Products in the show include health and beauty, jewelry and costume jewelry, food, garment and textiles and fashion accessories, gift and decorative items. Apart from display and sale of products, business matching between Thai and Indian business sectors will also take place. Mr. Chanchai Charanvatnakit, Thai Consulate-General to Chennai, will preside over the opening ceremony at Bangalore on 11 August 2011 at 10.00 hrs.
Thailand, led by Ministry of Commerce with support from Royal Thai Consulate in Chennai, sees economic significance and market opportunities in South India. Royal Thai Consulate in Chennai overlooks 4 southern states of India; Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andra Pradesh and Kerala, under its jurisdiction. The total population of these 4 states is about 250 million. The states, equipped with good economic infrastructures, high foreign investments and population with high rate of literacy, have potential to be a significant market for Thai products in the future.
