Nepal to sell power to Bangla via India (mint)
Nepal, Bangladesh, and India will sign a long-awaited tripartite agreement to export electricity from Nepal to Bangladesh, using India’s transmission line for distribution. Nepal will sell 40 MW of electricity annually to Bangladesh during the rainy season (June 15 to November 15) at a rate of 6.40 US cents per unit, with estimated earnings of $9.216 million over five months. The electricity will be transmitted through the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur 400 kV line, with the metering point in Muzaffarpur, India.
