Amazing Thailand awarded as The Best Outbound Tourism Board at ITCTA

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), New Delhi has been recently awarded as The Best  Outbound Tourism Board, at the International Tourism Conclave & Travel Award (ITCTA) held at East Bourne Resorts & Spa in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh from April 6 to April 8, 2012.  The awards were presented at a ceremony on April 6, 2012.

Ms. Runjuan Tongrut, Director of TAT, New Delhi received the award for Amazing Thailand. The awards were given on the basis of a survey conducted by I Creative Minds to the travel agents, tour operators and social media. This is the third award for Amazing Thailand this year, the others being awards by Travel & Leisure  for “The World’s Best Country” and “The World’s Best Wedding Destination”.

In 2011, over 900,000 Indian travelers visited Thailand and TAT’s aim is to reach 1 million visitors from India by the end of 2012.  This year, TAT will focus on promoting new destinations of Thailand, such as  Koh Samui , Phuket , Chiangmai  ,Kanchanaburi, Khao Yai and Koh Chang to attract more visitors from India.  At the same time, TAT will continue to promote Thailand as a destination for Indian weddings, golf  and leisure travel.
