Instituted by DLK Publications, Thailand was voted by a panel of jury members to win the coveted "Best Holiday Destination" award at the 7th Hospitality India & Explore the World Annual International Awards 2011 during a glittering ceremony in New Delhi. An initiative by DLK Publications - publishers of some of India's most respected travel publications – the award was presented by Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, Honourable Minister for Tourism of India, and was one of several awards to felicitate the industry’s top contributors.
Mrs. Pinki Arora, Tourism Authority of Thailand, New Delhi Marketing Representative Office, received the award on behalf of Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Commenting on the award Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, Director, Tourism Authority of Thailand, New Delhi, said, "The award is a credit to the entire Thai tourism industry who has worked effortlessly to ensure that Thailand provides the highest customer satisfaction. India has become a key source market for inbound travelers who view Thailand as a value for money destination. We have for several consecutive years been actively targeting several niche segments such as upmarket FIT travelers, golf specialists, wedding planners, and student travel to secure a broader image for Thailand’s myriad of offerings. The award will encourage our team to strive harder and reach new heights."
