NEW DELHI, August 25 – BLOOMBERG – Google, the search engine, is has decided to make its presence felt across various other countries like Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, where companies allocate a smaller proportion of their advertising spending online compared with the U.S. and Europe. - ECONOMIC TIMES – From this coming November, newly elected Thai government will be going to make hike in the price they used to provide the rice farmers earlier and this has already pushed up the price of paddy on the domestic market and milled rice for export. - ECONOMIC TIMES – After signing the pact with the Gujarat government to build a plant at Sanand, it has also announced to roll out a global small car at much cheaper rate than other players in the market. It will be launched in 2014. - ECONOMIC TIMES – India's gross domestic product during April to June is expected to increase at a slow pace as interest rate hikes, inflation and global slowdown begin to impact growth. The annual growth arte this year is expected to be in the range of 7.5% to 8%. - FINANCIAL EXPRESS - India and Georgia signed a double taxation avoidance agreement (DTAA) to prevent tax evasion and exchange banking information. - FINANCIAL EXPRESS - The provision under which cash & carry operators are prevented from becoming multi-brand retailers by selling exclusively to their own retail businesses is expected to be removed at next month’s biannual review of foreign direct investment (FDI) policy. - FINANCIAL EXPRESS – To facilitate land acquisition for industrial projects and urbanisation without causing discontent among the landowners, countries’ chambers have suggested a model under which a State Land Bank Corporations (SLBCs) would do ex-ante zoning of land for industrial use, acquire such land and hand it over to the industry as and when required.
