NEW DELHI, November 8 – ECONOMIC TIMES – Under Secretary of International Trade Francisco Sanchez who is leading a high level US business delegation expressed his opinion that US is very much keen to have India to open multi-brand retail to foreign investment as it will be a win-win situation for both the countries. The US giant Wal-Mart is among several global retail chains waiting in the wings to set up the multi-brand stores in the USD 550 billion retail market, 90 per cent of which is dominated by the neighborhood kirana stores. – ECONOMIC TIMES – According to the global financial services major Barclays Capital estimated India’s growth rate for the next 3 – 5 years to be 7- 8 % below than its full potential. Also it estimated that India's growth pattern would remain skewed towards the services sector as it is heavily dependent on domestic consumption, which it said, raises the possibility that the imbalance between the services and other sectors may widen even further. – ECONOMIC TIMES – According to the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, Indian-China trade would touch $100 billion in the next four years from the present $ 63 billion and the two Asian giants can emerge as world's largest trading partners by 2030. India is the tenth largest trade partner of China, and its seventh largest export market. In India's total trade, China's share has increased to over 10 per cent. – FINANCIAL EXPRESS – Kingfisher Airlines has plans to cancel 31 flights daily till Nov 19, including four international flights to Bangkok. The cancellations include top markets like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad. This is all happening due to bad financial conditions and disrupted business profits of the company, as per the officials working in the Kingfisher. – BUSINESS STANDARD – Hypercity Retail (India), part of the K Raheja Corp Group, is planning to open 9-12 large format stores in tier I and II cities in the next three years. It has opened its 11th store in Pune and the 12 th store is opening in Ahmedabad in the next two weeks. Hypercity stores offer over 44,000 products including fresh vegetables and fruits, food and grocery, electronics and home, sports, toys, stationery, apparel and footwear.
