Bangkok Airways, Thailand’s first privately owned airline, is eying at expanding its operations to Delhi after success stories in Mumbai and Bengaluru, said Vice President-Marketing Prote Setsuwan.
The multi-year Skytrax Best Regional Airline Award winner has just launched a new route Bangkok-Bengaluru in late September, receiving an overwhelming response from the Indian travelers. The carrier will operate five flights a week and expects to offer the daily flight by December.
The flight departs Bangalore at 01.40 hours and arrives at Bangkok at 06.45 hours; on the return, the flight leaves Bangkok at 22.35 hours and arrives at Bangalore at 00.50 hours.
Bangkok Airways first tapped into the Indian market in March, 2011 by launching the Bangkok-Mumbai operation.
The Boutique Airline currently owns three airports in Thailand and connects Bangkok to resort islands like Samui and Phuket as well as the world's heritage site like Luang Prabang.
