Naya Raipur to become the new power centre
Naya Raipur, the fourth planned city of India, on Tuesday finally took shape and became the new administrative capital of Chhattisgarh.
On Tuesday, President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the new mantralaya building in Naya Raipur is to become the power centre of mineral-rich Chhattisgarh state from Wednesday. The secretariat and mantralaya would start functioning from the new building from November 7.
The city will also have an Information Technology SEZ, a gems and jewellery SEZ, state-of-the-art convention centre, parks and integrated residential townships. A trade centre would also come up in the Naya Raipur.

'Automotive aftermarket industry may grow to $9.4 bn by 2015'
The size of the automotive aftermarket industry is expected to grow to around USD 9.4 billion in India by 2015, according to an industry official.
Entry of global players in the Indian automotive market coupled with major expansion plans of domestic industry would further aid the growth of the automotive aftermarket business in India.
Confederation of Indian Industry is organizing the Auto-Serve 2012, three-day conference featuring automotive care, maintenance, service, parts and garage equipment and commercial vehicles from November 16 in Chennai.

Force Motors eyes sale of 40,000 units in FY13
Pune-based commercial vehicle maker Force Motors today said it aims to sell 40,000 vehicles in 2012-13, a growth of 25 % from the last fiscal.
The company, which is targeting a turnover of $ 505 million in the current financial year, also said it will roll out a high-end passenger vehicle in 2013.
Force Motors has forayed into 20-30 seating capacity of vehicle in light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment with the launch of 'Traveller 26'.
Companies like Tata Motors, Swaraj Mazda and Eisher are also present in this segment.

Fish production in West Bengal may cross 2K metric tons by 2015: Assocham
Growing at compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 5%, fish production in West Bengal may cross 2,000 metric tons mark by 2015 from the current level of about 1,800 metric tons, according to a comprehensive study on fisheries done by Assocham.
West Bengal is the largest fish producing state and accounts for about 20 % of the total fish production of over 9 million tons in India, according to the study titled 'Fisheries - A Prize Catch in Indian Export Basket,' released by Assocham.
"Indian marine waters are home to over 1,700 fish species including 200 commercially significant species, while the sector employs over 15 million people and fish eaters account for over half of India's total population," said Mr D.S. Rawat, national secretary general of Assocham.

Manufacturing sector may record subdued growth in Q3: Ficci
In its quarterly survey on manufacturing, industry body Ficci has projected a modest recovery in the growth of the manufacturing sector during the October-December quarter.
The survey also said that sectors like chemicals, textiles, auto and machine tools were likely to witness low (less than 5 %) growth and four sectors - FMCG, capital goods, cement and leather - may witness moderate growth (between 5 % and 10 %) in the third quarter of 2012-13.
Sectors such as tyre, ceramics and electronics are likely to witness strong growth of more than 10 % during the period.

India to spend $1 trillion on infrastructure in next 5 years
India will spend USD 1 trillion on infrastructure development in the country over the next five years and 40 % of it will come from the private sector, Kamal Nath, Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs said yesterday at the India House in London. Kamal Nath said a three-day Seminar would be held in Delhi on the Infrastructure Development shortly.
