Odisha, one of the mineral-rich states in India is located in the eastern region of India. The state shares its borders with West Bengal in the north-east, Jharkhand in the north, Andhra Pradesh in the south, Chhattisgarh in the west & the Bay of Bengal in the east. The state is home to a large number of MSME units. Th. e state is amongst the top ten states accounting for the highest number of MSME enterprises. Odisha is one of the favoured investment destinations for domestic and international iron and steel players as well as one of the largest producers of iron and steel in India. The state’s GSDP grew at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.4 per cent between 2017-18 and 2018-19. Total merchandise exports from Odisha were US$ 6.303 million in FY19 and during April-September 2019 reached US$ 3.26 billion. Cumulative FDI inflows in the state, during April 2000 to September 2019, amounted to US$ 592 million.
